"We all want the three book contract and the six figure advance. Go for it! Maybe it will come true. But in the mean time, don't let your writing just sit in a drawer unloved while you wait for the Fairy Godmother of Agents to knock on your door. Get your work out there. You don't have to wait for validation anymore. There are so many ways to share your stories with readers. Deciding on which path to take to get published is actually the hard part." Terena Scott - from her workshop.

Yes, Medusa's Muse is once again accepting submissions. If you have a nonfiction book proposal you think is a great fit for the press, send a query letter in the body of an email to: medusasubmits@gmail.com, with "submission" in the subject line.

Medusa's Muse is starting a new arm of the press, focusing on Y.A. books featuring a person with a disability. The protagonist, not the "best friend," or "kid in the class," must have some type of disability to be considered. All genres welcome, from Fantasy to Mysteries and everything in between. If you have an idea for a story, send a query with a writing sample to medusasubmits@gmail.com.

WANTED: INTERNS. Must be internet savvy and have own computer with web access. Medusa's Muse is growing and we need people excited about books and publishing to help. Especially need interns with marketing skills and ideas to get the word out about our authors. If interested, please contact Terena at medusasmuse@gmail.com for details.

Terena Scott, Medusa's Muse publisher and author of What You Need to Know to Be a Pro: The Start-Up Business Guide for Publishers, is now teaching workshops on how to find your own publishing path and get your work in print. For more information, go to Terena's press blog, Medusa's Muse.

The Press's first book, Traveling Blind: Life Lessons from Unlikely Teachers, by Laura Fogg celebrated three years of publication on November 1, 2010. Since publication, Traveling Blind has sold almost 1000 copies in the US and Canada and has been included in the syllibi of three Universities. Not bad for an unknown author published by a micro press.
